If you're taking a course for the second time, you may see your previous completion date on your certificate. You may also believe a course you just finished for the first time has the wrong date on it. We'll cover both scenarios here.
Completing a course for the second time
In short, our system may not generate a new certificate with a new date for you after completing the course for a second time. If this has happened to you, contact us to look at your recent completion date and update your certificate.
Completed the course for the first time
If you've just received your certificate but believe the date on the certificate is incorrect, there are a couple of things you should know before contacting us.
First, the certificate records the date at the time all completion conditions are met (e.g. when all the course material is completed). See How to complete a course for more information on the completion criteria.
Second, we cannot back date a certificate to any date prior to the completion of all required materials. No matter how small the section was, the completion date must match the date all required material was finished.
With those two items in mind, computers don't always work as they should, and we have had glitches that prevented the certificate from being awarded until a later date. If you believe you have completed all material but didn't receive a certificate until sometime later, you can contact us to investigate that for you. If you haven't received your certificate yet, but believe you have completed your course, see I completed my course, but I don't have a certificate for more information.
We will perform an audit of your account and look at the completion date of each section to determine when the completion date should be and follow up with you.
